This accessibility statement applies to the lurkingtrolls.com website.  

This website has been developed to comply with the WCAG 2.2 AA standard for accessibility as a minimum.  

This website is run by Portsmouth City Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:  

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts  
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen 
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard  
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software  
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)  

We have made the website text as simple as possible to understand and aim to adhere to the national average reading age of 9.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.  

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations  

  1. The videos and audiobooks on this website do not have subtitles/captions/transcription, making it difficult for some users to access these files. This fails WCAG 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded) (Level A), and  WCAG2 Success Criterion 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded) (Level A)
  2. There are some links that don’t make sense out of context. Users who use screen readers may not fully understand what each link is for. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose – In Context). 
  3. Some buttons may not be fully visible when the page is zoomed above 200% on mobile devices, which may make them difficult to interact with. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.4.10 (Reflow) (Level AA).

This statement was prepared on 21 July 2023. It was last reviewed on 11 July 2025. 

This website was last tested on 29 April 2025. The test was carried out by Portsmouth City Council’s in-house development team with in-depth knowledge of the WCAG 2.2 AA standard and completed using assistive tools such as the  Chrome extension – WAVE Evaluation Tool.  

We tested a sample of pages, including the website’s most popular pages (informed by Google Analytics).
